To the Public Information Officer,

I seek the following information under the Right to Information Act in relation to the recently enacted Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Act, 2026. The requested information is necessary to understand the data relied upon in introducing the amendments and to assess the basis for the changes and provisions therein. I specifically seek information on the topic of Judges:

  1. Do Judges undergo any sensitization training sessions about transgender identity?

  2. Are these training sessions mandatory or voluntary?

    1. Which authority conducts these training sessions?

    2. Who are the resource persons engaged previously to conduct these sessions?

  3. How often are these training sessions conducted?

  4. Do the training sessions involve any interactions with a transgender person?

  5. Please provide a copy of the curriculum followed under these sessions. 

  6. How much budget is allocated for these training sessions? Please provide a breakdown of the budget allocated and actually used for FY 2024-25 and FY 2025-26.

  7. How many Judges attended these training sessions per state in FY 2024-25 and in 2025-26?
