Respected Chief Public Information officer,

I am writing this letter to seek information and better understanding regarding the functioning and training of Police personnel in India. We are unaware of how to address these queries under the RTI 2006 Act as Bureau of Police Research and Development (Adm Division) is not a valid category under the RTI government portal.

I specifically seek information on the following topic:

  1. Do Police trainees or Police personnel undergo any sensitization training sessions about transgender identity?

  2. Are these training sessions mandatory or voluntary?

  3. Which authority conducts these training sessions?

    1. Who are the resource persons engaged previously to conduct these sessions?

  4. How often are these training sessions conducted?

  5. Do the training sessions involve any interactions with a transgender person?

  6. Please provide a copy of the curriculum followed under these sessions.

  7. How much budget is allocated for these training sessions? Please provide a breakdown of the budget allocated and actually used for FY 2024-25 and FY 2025-26.

  8. Please guide us on which public authority or through which platform to approach to get further answers regarding police personnel, training and development for the Police department under our rights as citizens under the Right to Information Act, 2006.

We would be grateful to hear back and get more details regarding our queries.

Yours Sincerely,

Government Response
